Paul was born and raised in northern Ontario and obtained an Honours degree in Biology with a certificate in Neuroscience from Nipissing University. His undergraduate thesis studied the neurobiological effects of chronic marijuana use in adolescents through a rat model. His original research is ongoing and continues to lead to discoveries in the field of neuroscience.
Paul changed gears to study cancer at the M.Sc level in the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine; one of the world’s premier medical science research institutes. Paul worked on the world’s first oncolytic virus to go to clinical trials.
Paul then moved on to the University of Windsor’s faculty of Law where he graduated in 2017. Paul has worked primarily in civil and criminal litigation. As a student, Paul worked in a personal injury firm where he worked on numerous medical malpractice cases, including catastrophic birthing injuries, as well as products liability class proceedings in the pharmaceutical industry.
Paul articled at the largest law firm in northern Ontario where his work focused primarily on insurance defence litigation and criminal law.
Paul will be called to the Ontario bar in June of 2018.
