Ontario has proposed a three-part licensing regime as follows:
Cannabis retail licenses will be issued by the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) which has recently released the Registrar’s standards for the private sale of cannabis under the Cannabis Licence Act, 2018 (CLA) and Regulation 468/18. It is expected that applicants will be required to disclose information including, but not limited to, information about the business, information about the financial and criminal histories of individuals involved, links to licensed producers (LPs), the proposed location, and the proposed security plan in compliance with the Registrar’s standards.
