A Toronto man is facing 35 charges in connection with eight separate robberies where the accused allegedly used a knife to rob women at an ATM and a gun to rob fast food places. Ontario criminal law makes it clear that these kind of incidents come with hefty penalties if an accused individual is found guilty of the charges. Those accused would do well to enlist the help of an experienced legal team to help fight the charges.
Police said they were called on as many as six times to investigate a man demanding money from women at ATM machines in the Toronto area. No one was injured during these incidents. After conducting an investigation, cops also believe the same suspect was behind three fast food joint robberies in which a firearm was used. These happened during the same time period as did the ATM incidents.
Police arrested the 20-year-old suspect without incident. The 35 charges the accused is facing include three counts of robbery with a firearm, robbery with a weapon, theft of a credit card, two counts of uttering death threats and forcible confinement. He has already appeared in court.
A Toronto lawyer experienced in criminal law can assist a client who has been charged with serious criminal offences such as robbery using a weapon. A lawyer will review all evidence presented including any video footage to help a client make a strong case to fight the charges aggressively. A lawyer will also assess whether his or her client was arrested within the letter of the law, and address any issues before the court.
